What exactly is electronic health insurance notification?

What exactly is electronic health insurance notification?

Who has to take care of the electronic notification?

Unfortunately, we cannot enroll you without confirmation of your insurance status. Regardless of whether you have statutory or private health insurance in Germany, are covered by your foreign insurance in Germany or have taken out special insurance for your studies in Germany:

Anyone and everyone who starts studying in Germany must apply to a German statutory health insurance company!

Most health insurance companies also offer English language support. If you need contact details, please contact us by e-mail: Studierendensekretariat@orga.hfmdk-frankfurt.de

Do I have to take out new insurance?

Of course not, the choice of how you want to take out health insurance is up to you. It is necessary to contact a German statutory health insurance company, as only they can send us the electronic notification that we need for your enrollment.

Do I have to contact a specific health insurance company?

No, you are free to choose, the only important thing is that it is a German statutory health insurance company.
