For the winter semester 2022/2023 and the summer semester 2023 GOstralia!-GOzealand! and its Australian partner universities offer full and partial scholarships for a semester abroad in Australia. By accepting the scholarship, you will become an ambassador for your chosen university and will be given the task of writing five blog entries and a field report for GOstralia!-GOzealand!

Full Scholarship
The full scholarship covers tuition for one semester. The deadline for the application and scholarship documents is April 30 for the start of studies in the 2nd semester of the same year (between July and December).
Partial Scholarship
The partial scholarship covers 50% of the tuition fees for a semester abroad. The application deadline for a study start in the 2nd semester of the same year (between July and December) is April 30, for a study start in the 1st semester of the following year (between January and June) it is November 30.
The Fulbright Commission allows students to complete sponsored semesters abroad in the U.S. through a variety of scholarships.
The University Scholarship is for students who pursue a master's degree and would like to spend one semester (4 months) or one academic year (9 months) abroad at a U.S. partner university of the Fulbright Network, beginning in August/September
Benefits:
- Funding for living expenses and (partial) tuition fees:
Up to U.S. $34,500 for a year (9 months) / U.S. $15,300 for one semester (4 months)
- Funding for round-trip airfare
- US health/accident insurance
- Free issuance of the Fulbright visa
- Additional costs lump sum: 600€
- Preparation and networking seminars
- Admission to the international Fulbright network
- Counseling by Fulbright Germany and their US partners
Requirements:
- German nationality
- At the time of starting the scholarship (August/September): Bachelor's degree or at least 6 successfully completed semesters in courses of study with the degree Diplom, Magister, First State Examination
- Good to very good educational background in the respective field of study
- Active social, cultural, political commitment
- Convincing motivation for the study and cultural exchange in the US
- Good English language skills

The travel scholarship (Reisestipendium) is intended for Bachelor's students (fifth semester or higher) and Master's students who wish to spend a semester abroad (4months) or a year abroad (9 months) at an American university (partner universities of the Fulbright network).
Benefits:

- Funding of travel expenses with a lump sum of €2,000.
- Participation in preparatory and networking meetings of German and American Fulbright scholarship holders.
- Support for the scholarship holders
- Admission to the network of Fulbright Germany scholarship holders and alumni.
Requirements:
- German citizenship
- Good English language skills
- Good to very good educational background in the respective field of study
- Conclusive professional objectives for the study project
- Commitment outside of studies
- Willingness to assume social responsibility
- Motivation to work for German-American understanding
Applicants who have already studied in the US for more than four months or have completed an internship relevant to their studies cannot be considered.
Fulbright Germany travel scholarships cannot be combined with scholarships that are either awarded for purposes comparable to the travel scholarship’s or are closed scholarship programs which benefits include the financing of travel expenses (e.g. DAAD Individual Scholarships, funding within the framework of ISAP, BachelorPlus).

The scholarship database of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports the search for funding opportunities for students planning a stay abroad. Here you will find an overview of various scholarships for specific disciplines or courses of study and destination countries.
Funding is available for a stay abroad for either one academic year (2 semesters or 3 trimesters, maximum funding duration of 12 months) or a stay abroad to complete a postgraduate course (e.g. Master's degree, funding duration of one to two years).
Benefits:
- a monthly scholarship installment depending on the country of destination (to the scholarship calculator)
- Travel allowance depending on the country of destination
- Health, accident and personal liability insurance benefits
Under certain conditions after application also:
- grant for tuition fees, if applicable, up to an upper limit
- grant for a language course (national language or language of instruction or work)
- Family benefits for accompanying spouses or partners and/or children
- grant for travel in the host country directly related to the project
Third-party benefits are partially offset against the DAAD scholarship.

Lehramt.International
With the program Lehramt.International, the DAAD supports internships during or after the teacher-training program (before the teacher traineeship) at, among others, PASCH network, cooperation and partner schools of the German university abroad.
The funding period is at least 30 days to 6 months for students and 3 -12 months for graduates.
Benefits:
- a monthly scholarship installment, depending on the country of destination (to the scholarship calculator)
- Travel allowance depending on the country of destination
- Health, accident and personal liability insurance benefits
- In addition, family benefits for accompanying spouses or partners and/or children can be granted under certain conditions upon application.
- In the case of a disability or chronic illness: grant for additional costs incurred abroad that are not covered by third parties.
Benefits from third parties will be partially offset against the DAAD scholarship.

Lehramt.International for students
Lehramt.International for graduates
"PROMOS" is a program financed by funds from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The scholarship is aimed at all students of the HfMDK Frankfurt am Main who would like to complete a specialized course (up to 6 weeks) abroad. Specialized courses are, for example, summer courses/master classes at foreign universities or from other recognized providers. Participation in lectures and congresses cannot be funded
The funding is a one-time grant of 500 €, the number of grants is limited.

Enrolled students of HfMDK, regardless of their nationality.

- compile information on the planned course (program, instructors, content, costs, course duration, etc., confirmation of registration, etc., if applicable).
Please note: You can apply for PROMOS even if you have not yet registered for the specialized course, or have not yet received confirmation of registration.

For the U.S. states of Massachusetts and Wisconsin and the Australian state of Queensland, the state of Hesse offers programs that allow students to study at a university without having to pay tuition.
Prerequisites:
- Good English language skills (proof is required in some cases)
- Very good academic performance
- At the time of departure, the 3rd semester (Bachelor) or the 2nd semester (Master) must have been completed
- Good knowledge of German (for foreign students)
In Wisconsin and Queensland, a semester abroad can be taken up for the winter semester as well as for the summer semester. In Massachusetts, a semester abroad is only possible for the winter semester.

Some colleges have trimesters. The exact semester times can be found on the websites of the universities.
Please note that the application must be submitted to the International Office 1 year before the desired departure date!
For Massachusetts and Wisconsin the application deadline is in the winter semester, for Queensland in the summer semester. The exact deadlines are determined and announced by the International Office.
