Trouvaille Trio
Sebastian Nowak, violin
Timothy Hopkins, violoncello
Victoria Sarasvathi, piano
The Trouvaille Trio was founded in early 2024 after its members had previously got to know each other in other chamber music contexts. Indonesian pianist Victoria Sarasvathi and Polish violinist Sebastian Nowak have formed the Sarasvathi-Nowak duo in 2019. They have performed in many European and Asian countries and have won numerous prizes, such as first place at the Cosima Wagner International Chamber Music Competition in Bellagio, Italy.
The German-American cellist Timothy Hopkins and Victoria Sarasvathi have been working together on various projects since 2012. For example, the two were invited to take part in the recordings for "Saltarello - Exceptional Talents in the Broadcasting Hall" in Bremen and were recently involved in a performance of Beethoven's Triple Concerto with the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra.
Finally, the three musicians came together as the Trouvaille Trio. They are led by Prof. Angelika Merkle, with whom the Sarasvathi-Nowak duo is studying chamber music at the HfMDK Frankfurt. The trio members also received valuable inspiration from Arie Vardi, Eberhard Feltz, Konstantin Heidrich, Frederik Øland, Krzysztof Węgrzyn, Peter Bruns, Tim Vogler, Frank Reinecke, Heime Müller, Cuarteto Casals and the Storioni Trio, among others.
At the end of 2024, the ensemble played three concerts for the Verein zur Pflege der Kammermusik und zur Förderung junger Musiker e. V. and came second in the 27th Chamber Music Competition of the Polytechnische Gesellschaft.
