AV Studio

The audio/video studio was redesigned and refurbished from scratch in 2020. This provides - in addition to the recording facilities in the Large and Small Halls - a further room for the production of a wide variety of sound and video recordings.

In the course of the conceptual design of the space, the greatest attention was paid to ensuring that artists and ensembles of a wide variety of colors and styles can find their place here and work under optimal working conditions. In the AV studio, recordings of various kinds are realized - from pure voice recordings to string quartet productions to the production of a jazz ensemble with several cameras.

The studio consists of an approximately 30sqm control room, where sound engineers and artists* can listen and discuss, and an approximately 70sqm studio with a new Steinway C, which is exclusively available for ensemble recordings.

The entire studio has been acoustically optimized by a renowned acoustic company and includes professional camera, video and audio technology in addition to contemporary lighting technology.

In the AV studio of the HfMDK (in addition to the production of simple documentary recordings), longer production dates are also possible, in which the musicians* have the opportunity to

• produce a work with the support of a musical recording supervisor (including subsequent editing),
• to stage a work videographically with professional lighting and camera technology.
